11th week.

this week we talked about STORAGE DEVICES

i learned that this university has a lot of wirings. i mean. LOTS AND LOTS and all are connected to 1 bldg. GOKONGWEI.

i learned about the past storage devices people used before. bla bla bla.

we have to dance our way out of the problem thingy!

my hatest week. the 10th week.

a lot of things happend to me this week. i mean personally, tapos nadagdagan pa ng MIDTERM for intrict.

all of us got a very low scores on our activity. most of us did not get complete sleep. we only had two days for our midterm project but for the other sections, they had a week to prepare! then the passing for this subject is 70%! damn i wish i was in the mood that week. but everything happens for a reason right? lols

9th week. MAKRO FIELDTRIP

it was not my first time in makro makati. but during the field trip, i learned a lot of thing. i noticed that their offices are located in the store proper! i learned about their managerial thingy and many more stuffs about makro.

and of course, we had to do papers about it. which by the way was the sad part about the week.:|

8th week

on the first meeting, we watched clips of the electronic elections.
we were asked which machine will be the best machine for the incoming ARMM elections.
it was a confusing for me because DRE and OMR are both ok for me. but the bad thing about the other was it has a very big HYGIENIC problem.:)) lols

on the second meeting, sir OLi was not around but he gave us a seatwork about INPUT and OUTPUT DEVICES.

7th and still going lols:))

this week, we were taught the stages of Information systems development.
>planning
>analysis
>design
>implementation
>support and maintenance

we were also grouped into four's.
our goal was to become a strategic analyst.
we were asked to ask questions about the coconut juice thingy where we failed to get a high grade :( sigh. :))
its just the start of our ictm adventure and i know, eventually, we will be better in analyzing stuff in the future.

INTRICT 6th week :D

6th week
information systems.

information systems provides better and accurate information at any given place and time.

i learned that an information system has 6 elements namely:

1. software

2. hardware

3. data
4. people
5. network
6. process

an organization will not be successful without any i.s because the i.s provides correct information to the organization.

imagine an organization with false information.. tsk tsk tsk

5th week

uhh.. midterms is fast approaching!!

all we did this week was to prepare for the presentation that sir oli asked us to prepare. we interviewed managers and we were ask to present what they said and answered. luckily, we didnt get to present our work!

but i still learned something..
in order to know what the company is all about, we need to ask for its structure and its organizational flow chart.
(i still learned something even though there were no classes last monday.. haha)

4th week!

uhh. its already the 4th week. midterms is near!!

i learned the levels in an enterprise.

Executive Management
- they are the bosses! haha. they plan and make the most important decisions for the enterprise. they think ahead because in order for a bussines to success, they must have knowledge on what the future will be like years from now.

Middle Management
-the tactical(its my key word). they implement the decisions of the executive.

Operational Management
-deals with day to day activities. operational decisions

Non Management Employees
- they make and implement the job decisions.

i also learned how managers manage their resources. it is through PLANNING, ORGANIZING, LEADING and CONTROLLING.

WEEK 3

things ive learned on the third week:

Companies look for certain traits in an applicant. They look for certain traits and skills. I've learned that you must be a a good leader. Leadership is important. Without it, you wont be able to lead others and handle responsibilities. Secondly, you must be able to communicate well. Communication plays an important role. Imagine life without it, you get my point.lols. You must learn how to work alone and work with people. Some people told me that in order to succeed, you must work with other people. You must also be an open minded person. You have to think and think and think.

These traits will help you get a good job in the future.

We were told to look for job requirements in the field of Information Technology. These are my findings:

Technical Requirements
-Most of the companies look for those who have good SQL skills. Next is Java then Visual Basic

Non-Technical Requirements
-Most companies look for people with good Communication Skills and Programming Background

Responsibilities
-Most responsibilities deal with software development.

I learned that there are lots and lots of things that I have to study and learn before I become an IT professional. I guess I have to study hard in order to have a good job someday. LOLS!

Thoughts to Ponder? lols :)) 1st Week:))

google..hmm.. theres a lot of thing i like abt google.. it has a lot of applications!! haha! im having a good time using google.. i mean, there is youtube for pete's sake!! hahaha lols. so yeah.. i can maximize google and its applications for my work in INTRICT. i use the google groups to see whats happening in INTRICT.. and im familiarizing myself with google calendar.. it was so nice to see what google has to offer. when sir oli was introducing us to google, i got the feeling that im interested with it.. i mean, the SMS and the calendar thing was soooooo cooool!! haha

google apps that support me as a student?hmm. well there is youtube, wer i can look for videos and at the same time, learn from it. there is google itself, i mean the web search thingy.. its got to be helpful u know.. and of course, how can i use google and its apps without gmail.. hahaah

productivity?? u know what? honestly, i searched that word in the net.. i googled it.lol. so yeah, i ddnt quite get it wen sir oli said productivity, but i guess, productivity is somehow related to technology. i mean, u cant be making things with technology if you are not productive.. i can say that people are productive when it comes to technoloy because people are inventing stuff everyday. they are being productive, lols.. hahaah..

how can my parents be productive?? ahhh.. i really dont know! lols.. i can just tell them that they improve their productivity so they can be helpful to society.
